The Arts Desk has given The Zoo and Trial by Jury 4 stars and praises Catrine’s performance as Angelina in Trial.
“the show is decisively stolen by Kirkman’s gum-chewing, smoking, moueing, hoop-earringed Plaintiff. Daring of her to sing in character both flat and flatly, at least until the Italianate ensemble “A nice dilemma”. Whatever your feelings about this Essex Ange(lina), Kirkman’s performance is the stuff of which awards are made.”
Catch it while you can at the King’s Head Theatre, Islington on 3rd and 10th May at 3pm and 7pm.

The reviews are in for English Touring Opera’s bright new production of Cavalli’s masterpiece, Jason, in which Catrine performs the role of Isiphile. The show has received 4 stars from both the Guardian and Independent, praising the performers and players alike.
“…the drama never flags for an instant..”
“…Hannah Pedley’s Medea had heft nicely counterbalanced by Catrine Kirkman’s delicate soprano as Isiphile..”
– Michael Church, Independent
“Van der Linde (Jason), with his silky countertenor, sounds glamorous as well as looks it, and by the end we fully understand why Hannah Pedley’s self-assured Medea and Catrine Kirkman’s desperate Isiphile are trapped in his orbit.”
– Tim Ashley, Guardian
